- Welcome To RAPTOR
- *****************************************************************************
- Congratulations!!! You are the proud owner of the latest version of RAPTOR
- *****************************************************************************
- This
- eta version of
- aptor
- S is totally functional..
- Please read the installation docs when setting up your BBS also check out the
- upgrade docs these are very important!!!
- I will give you a few basics here to get you to the W.F.C. Screen
- (waiting for call screen).
- By now you have installed RAPTOR, you have had to run rapinit to get to
- this screen! You are well on your way to having one of the most configurable
- pieces of BBS software on the market..There are many features to explore and
- to configure, I trust you will find many hours of pleasure and enjoyment out
- of letting your imagination run wild. The boundries of RAPTOR are limited only
- by your imagination!
- OK Now here's the steps I promised....
- 1)Make sure you have a fossil driver loaded before calling up RAPTOR....X00 or
- BNU work extremely well....make sure you lock the baud rate as well...you can
- find out the appropriate command lines for these fossils in the fossil driver
- documentation..
- 2)You will need to call up RAPTOR the first time by typing BBS -K from the
- main RAPTOR directory...this will keep RAPTOR from trying to init the modem.
- 3)Once you get to the W.F.C. screen go into the configuration of the modem
- by typing P then A and set up the node number the com port and the rest of
- the options given there...
- 4)Next thing to do is to read the BETAKEY.TXT and copy the info down and
- insert it in the configuration as well (this info is case sensitive)
- first type P from the wfc then B for your BBS name and your sysop name which
- MUST be Beta Test for the beta key to work and R from the wfc for
- the registration info..(again case sensitive).
- Again I encourage you to read and to print out the docs they are your lifeline
- to making RAPTOR do what you want...Please understand that some of the older
- documentation is just that, OLD! So read the updates...These are VITAL!
- There are many new options that aren't covered in the original docs and things
- that have changed...(for the better)! I wont get into all of them here but
- look around and play with it for awhile! We at the RAPTOR Development Team
- encourage you to let us know how we can make your life easier
- (with the software that is<G>) Please feel free to give us your comments or
- suggestions (good or bad)..This is how we know in which direction to take
- Raptor in the future...This is a MAJOR project and an ongoing one with
- new ideas being added all the time, so your input may be directly influential
- to new and upcoming releases!!!
- Documentation is being re-written so bear with us...the software is priority
- ONE! A complete re-write of the docs will be available in the 1.0 release!
- Any configuration or technical questions should be directed to the
